the new one has speakers and volume control on the side
I have bought both and found that the iPod touch 2nd generation has a built in speaker, the first generation does not. I also had to upgrade my software for the 1st generation to download apps but the 2nd generation already came equipped.
The new ipod has a speaker, volume control on the side, and it comes with the app store already installed. But, if you have the first touch, you can buy the update for $10 on itunes. That way, you can the app store. But, the update will format your ipod and delete everything(for those of you who don’t know what “format” means).
The second one has built in speakers.
The 2nd gen has volume buttons and speakers.
Also the 2nd gen can’t be jailbroken as of now.
